Evanescence in Badalona: the melodic metal that defined an era

Evanescence arrives in Badalona to reconnect with those who grew up with their unmistakable voice, among posters, folders, and MP3 playlists. The band led by Amy Lee has confirmed that their new world tour will stop at the Olimpic Arena de Badalona in the fall of 2026, in one of only two concerts scheduled in Spain. A date marked in red for those who have spent two decades waiting to relive that first thrill brought by “Bring Me to Life,” “My Immortal,” and more. They won’t come alone. Poppy and Nova Twins will be part of an evening that promises to merge generations of alternative metal on a single stage. The alliance with Poppy comes after the release of “End of You,” where Amy Lee shared the spotlight with the artist and Courtney LaPlante. A natural bridge between the dark, symphonic sound of the Americans and the new wave of experimental metal that captivates younger fans. The announcement comes while they are in the midst of recording their next album, the sixth in their career, scheduled for 2026. While details remain under wraps, the band has continued to make its mark with soundtrack collaborations such as Ballerina, with “Fight Like a Girl,” and Devil May Cry, with the song “Afterlife.” The last chance to see them in Spain was in 2024, at the Alma Festival and later at Rock in Rio Lisbon. Two unforgettable nights that confirmed what was obvious: Evanescence continue to be a refuge, a memory, and a catharsis. Badalona awaits you.

Marilyn Manson, harrowing at the Olimpic Arena

Marilyn Manson left his mark on the Olimpic Arena de Badalona on November 27 with a performance that confirmed why he remains one of the most influential and unsettling names in contemporary rock. The stop at the venue was part of the “One Assassination Under God Tour”, his long-awaited return to Europe after years away from the stage. The show brought together thousands of fans who experienced an intense, dark and highly theatrical live set, true to the extreme aesthetic that has defined the artist throughout his career. The setlist combined classics such as “The Beautiful People” and “mOBSCENE” with new tracks from One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1, his twelfth album, where Manson once again explores his recurring themes: the tension between the sacred and the profane, redemption, desire and the most visceral side of human nature. On stage, each song felt like a small ritual, reinforced by a brutal visual production. The night opened with Dead Posey, whose raw energy and dark aesthetic fit naturally with the atmosphere of the evening. A show that will remain in the Olimpic’s memory as a powerful display of magnetism and provocation. Here are the best photos from Marilyn Manson’s performance!

The Offspring storms the Olimpic in an unforgettable night of punk rock

There are concerts that are a demonstration of visceral force that turns a venue into the epicenter of overwhelming energy. That was exactly what The Offspring, with the complicity of a masterful Simple Plan, achieved at the sold-out Olimpic Arena in Badalona. The evening began with Simple Plan, who proved to be much more than just an opening act. The Canadians are masters at the art of connecting with the audience, deploying a catalog of generational anthems that served as the perfect ignition. Their performance was a celebration of pop-punk at its purest, setting the stage for the rock storm that was to come. After a twenty-minute break, the stage welcomed the legends. The Offspring didn't hit the stage, they stormed it. The band kicked things off by playing nine songs with hardly any breaks in between. An adrenaline rush starring anthems like 'Come Out and Play' and 'All I Want' that promised a night without respite. Led by the unmistakable voice of Dexter Holland and the sharp riffs of Noodles, they demonstrated why they are one of the most potent creative forces in punk rock. The concert was a journey through an indelible legacy, in which there was room for some tears during the emotional 'Gone Away', which transformed the pavilion into a sea of lights in a moment of pure connection. But that pause only served to gather momentum before the final apotheosis. The final stretch was an all-out party, a succession of classics that are part of the DNA of several generations. 'Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)', 'The Kids Aren't Alright' and the collective outburst of 'Self Esteem' were the finishing touch to an impeccable performance, where the band and the audience merged into one voice. This last song was the farewell to a concert full of nostalgia and rock that, for a moment, took us back to the nineties.

10 Things You Didn’t Know About The Offspring

Next Saturday, September 27, the doors of the Olimpic open to welcome two legendary punk-rock bands from the 90s and 2000s: The Offspring and Simple Plan. Sold out! We're revving up for a truly explosive night with some band trivia you might not have known. A peculiar beginning: the band was born from a school project between Dexter Holland and Greg K, with the school janitor, Kevin John Wasserman, who would become their guitarist, Noodles. Name change: their first name was indeed Manic Subsidal before becoming The Offspring. PhD in biology: Dexter (Bryan) Holland completed a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology in May 2017. + info: Rolling Stone — dexter holland finishes Ph.D. Digital giveaway attempt: for the album Conspiracy of One (2000) they planned to offer free downloads and a $1 million giveaway; the label pressured them and the initiative was canceled. + info: ABC News — Offspring Album Download Axed (2000). A lawsuit changed their album name: their album Splinter was going to be called Chinese Democracy (like the Guns N' Roses album), but Axl Rose sued them and they had to change it. The sample from “Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)”: the vocals in "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)" use the same sample as "Rock of Ages" by Def Leppard. Is the bassist a lawyer?: bassist Greg Kriesel is a lawyer by training, although he never practiced. Their debut album and CD releases: the band's first album, titled The Offspring, was not released on CD until 1995, two years after the vinyl and cassette formats were created. Punk revival in the 90s: The Offspring, along with bands like Green Day and Rancid, are often credited with bringing mainstream attention back to punk in the mid-to-late 90s. Americana and mass punk accessibility: their album Americana (1998) established a sound that made certain elements of punk/pop-punk more accessible to a wider audience; the album and singles like “Pretty Fly” were key in that transition. And you? Will you be part of this brutal night of punk-rock?
