Marilyn Manson, harrowing at the Olimpic Arena

Marilyn Manson left his mark on the Olimpic Arena de Badalona on November 27 with a performance that confirmed why he remains one of the most influential and unsettling names in contemporary rock. The stop at the venue was part of the “One Assassination Under God Tour”, his long-awaited return to Europe after years away from the stage. The show brought together thousands of fans who experienced an intense, dark and highly theatrical live set, true to the extreme aesthetic that has defined the artist throughout his career.

The setlist combined classics such as “The Beautiful People” and “mOBSCENE” with new tracks from One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1, his twelfth album, where Manson once again explores his recurring themes: the tension between the sacred and the profane, redemption, desire and the most visceral side of human nature. On stage, each song felt like a small ritual, reinforced by a brutal visual production.

The night opened with Dead Posey, whose raw energy and dark aesthetic fit naturally with the atmosphere of the evening. A show that will remain in the Olimpic’s memory as a powerful display of magnetism and provocation.
