WOW 28 unveils its fight card with 11 high-impact bouts

The promoter WOW, a benchmark of mixed martial arts in Spain, has unveiled the official fight card of WOW 28 Barcelona, the first numbered event of the company owned by Ilia Topuria and Cristiano Ronaldo in Barcelona. The Olimpic Arena Badalona, an iconic sports venue, will witness 11 MMA bouts promising action from start to finish.

Sintes VS Badakhshi

The main event will feature Fabia Sintes, the first WOW flyweight champion, against the German Abdul Karim Badakhshi (9-3). At 31 years old and trained at the MMA Barcelona Team, Sintes returns after her victory in November in Vitoria, where she finished Amir Malekpour with an armbar. In June, she had been crowned champion after defeating Davi Santos in an intense five-round battle.

International Presence

The co-main event will pit two fighters with international experience against each other: Daniil Prikaza (16-8-2) and Adrián Oviedo (8-4), in the welterweight division. A bout that promises pace and experience inside the octagon.

Female talent will also be in the spotlight. Andrea Meneses (7-3), from the Uppercut Training Center, will seek her third consecutive victory against the French fighter Claire Lopez (7-3), with experience in Rizin and Bellator. ‘Kali’ debuted in WOW in September with a unanimous decision win and now aims to establish herself as a key figure in the promotion.

Rising Stars

The card also makes room for the new generation. Liam Arjona, one of Barcelona’s emerging talents, will face the Spanish José Gilarte in a key bout to measure his potential.

Additionally, the professional debut of Dimitri Barkaia, a Georgian based in Barcelona and considered one of the top prospects in the amateur circuit, will take place. At 19 years old, Barkaia will make the jump to the professional ranks against the British Charlie Hatton, in the 170-pound division.
