Olimpic Arena Comes Alive with the Copa Colegial Catalunya & GBSB Global 2025 Finals

Last Friday, May 9th, the Olimpic Arena once again became the perfect stage for school basketball greatness. For the second year in a row, our venue hosted the finals of the Copa Colegial — and this time, it reached new heights with the first edition of the Copa Colegial Catalunya & GBSB Global.

If last year’s Copa Colegial Barcelona was already a special moment, this edition marked a big leap forward. Four schools from different parts of Catalonia came together to experience a unique event on a court full of history — unforgettable and, for many, unrepeatable.

Girls’ Final: drama until the final whistle

The girls’ grand final saw Santa Pau-PIFMA take on Sant Gabriel Sant Adrià in a thrilling game that wasn’t decided until the last minutes. Final score: 69-65.
Santa Pau-PIFMA came out victorious, with Martina Miras earning MVP honors for the final and Martina Torregrosa, also from Santa Pau-PIFMA, named tournament MVP.

Boys’ Final: Mataró’s dominance and style

Next up, the boys’ final featured Escola Pia Santa Anna (Mataró) and Institut Front Marítim (Barcelona). The Mataró team controlled the pace from start to finish, securing the win with a 63-72 scoreline.
Pol Armengol (Front Marítim) was named Final MVP, while Pau Jordà (Pia Santa Anna) took home the MVP of the entire tournament.

A legendary venue for an unforgettable day

What happened at the Olimpic Arena was more than just basketball — it was a celebration of school sports, of the values it represents, and of the future it inspires. The crowd roared, the players gave their all, and one thing was clear: this venue has soul.

The Olimpic Arena was once again the heart of school basketball. And we’re already counting the days until next time. See you soon, Badalona!
